i sold my 86 k10 about a year and a half ago here in ga, and im trying to find out what happened to it and hopefully buy it back, and i was hoping someone on here might know a way to get a carfax report or something to see where it is and hopefully not demolished or srushed somewhere. the vin is 1gcek14hxgf350412 if anyone can help please email me at dixieoffroad86@yahoo.com thanks.

Carfax doesn't go back that far. Find the person you sold it to and do some manual tracking, or take the VIN to the DMV and see if they can tell you anything about it.. These are you only options.
-
will the dmv run it for individuals? isnt there a privacy thing or do they not care
-
I don't know, but that is how I would approach it. What you are asking the DMV to do is no different than running a Carfax.
-
DMV won't do that unless you get a court order, subpoena duces tecum. You got a friend who is a cop? He can run the VIN on a 10-28 in the state or NCIC nat'l data base....he could just see if it was reported stolen or something, then bingo, the last registered info comes up, name/ address, etc..(i didn't just type that, did I?)
-
type what? :D
I have done it that way before too :D Of course I was told not to "advertise" that... :D
-
no friends that are cops(they dont like me that much) but i am good friends with all the game wardens around here, one of them might do it for me
-
They can do it too...

-
i would do it for you but i don't have administrative privileges at work yet not that high in rank lol but ill see what i can do, problay can't but ill see

that in lies the problem, i lost all the numbers in my phone a few months back and i dont have the number anymore. the truck was in show condition when i sold it, i just needed the money and it was not being driven much due to poor gas mileage and high gas prices, so i sold it and now i got a little extra money and im hoping its still around and i can get it back. to be honest i dont even care if it is wrecked anything can be fixed it just takes time and money my fear is if its been wrecked and in a junkyard somewhere or worse.
