I don't care for them, but here's an example of a truck I definitely wouldn't be ashamed to drive.

That's how I wanna do my steppy!  Cowl hood with the racing stripes, except mine will be blue with white stripes.

I too am not a huge fan of them. If your going to have them done or do them yourself, make sure they're done right(to where you can't feel them). I would consider ghost stripes though.

I dont like the ones that go across the roof and through the bed. Just on the hood is good enough,

If you are going to do them.  Do them right.  Look at some good pics of early Camaros and Chevelles with factory stripes.  Pay attention to the proportions or the stripe width vs. the gap width.  I've seem them done completely wrong so many times, maybe that's why I tend not to like them.  Or maybe it's because they are a little too flashy for my taste.  But nonetheless, wide stripes and a narrow gap look ten times better than narrow stripes and a wide gap.

I think it's just been overdone. So many people started doing this it became a fad and like event said, it's got to be done right to look good.

I found some more pics. The tailgate is not on the truck, but the stripes come from the top of it down about 6" and then round off.

Blue Gas the stripes look good on your truck. I like the way yours are done look more like what you would see on an old muscle car.

Never had a truck with them but my 74 Malibu had them. I sprayed it Caterpillar yellow, with black SS stripes. They followed the the outside hood body line, got wider as they went to the winshield. Rounded off in the front, 1/4 black, 1/4 yellow, like yours Blue Gas. That is the correct style.
