1 - I was playing with my brakes the other day and I'm pretty sure I loosened them up until they were non functional. I wanted to know is there a certain spec or procedure to set them correctly? I don't want them to be a problem when I do get my truck running around again...we have races coming up in 3 weeks at the airstrip.
2 - Will there be much change in pinion angle from using a flip kit with stock shackles and hangers(front is lowered 2-3 inches from stock)? I would measure it myself, but I have no flat ground near me and I only have 2jackstands. At this point, the pinion yoke seems to be completely straight with the driveshaft. I have 2 sets of angle shims so I can set up the angle how I want it. What direction do the shims/wedges go?

Team, On the brakes...If you adjust the star wheel out until the drum has just a slight drag while it's spun, this will get you close. Assuming everything is working correctly, the brakes will self-adjust from there.
On the pinion angle, we have covered that before. Do a search in this section. You don't need a flat surface, the height the front is lowered has no effect. The pinion angle is the the comparison of the output shaft to the pinion shaft. The weight needs to be on the axle while your doing this. Check it out & if you can't find the answer you need ...ask.
