I bought a couple of old, traditional spotlights. They are different, so I'm not going to put them on symmetrically. Anyway, I was thinking of mounting the prettier one to the driverside A post. The exposed area of the post is very narrow.
Does anyone have pictures of this kind of an assembly in a 73 - 87 GM truck, from outside, and from the interior side? It would surely help to see how someone else has done it...

Antti, You will need about a 5/8"-3/4" hole for rod to pass through...the A pillar's strength would be greatly compromised considering all bigger it is. My Two cents, Lorne

Yeah, maybe I mount it somewhere on the roof... Well, I'll figure that out after installing the doors and fenders back on.
Anyway, it would be nice to see some photos of 73-87 trucks with spotlights, no matter where they're mounted. :)

I don't have any pictures nor can I find any, but I have seen K5's and Pickups used by forestry, police and Rescue with these on them.

Most of the '73-81's I have seen, only had the roof mounted Single Spot like this:

While more later ones had the Pillar Mounts:

Sorry for not so close up pics, and no interior shots as those are hard to come by.....

The one with a roof mount is a 83-up truck
The second to last Police truck is an 81-82...
