Title: Question about serpintine belt
Post by: chevyman350_82 on March 03, 2009, 03:48:45 pm
I hope this is in the right spot....but anyways I have 1981 454 block and would like to put serpintine setup on it, I know I can go to the junk yard and get pulleys and etc. but my concern is what is the best truck to get this off of for the A/C part or will I have to get lines made to meet up with condensor and dryer?

You can Just grab the parts off a donor 87-91. You can also buy adapters to make sbc set up work too. Grab the ps pump, pulleys, alternator and compressor along with the ac lines.

Vile, Is the '87-'91 setup the one with Two air pumps? There was a nice (but heavy, cast iron) set-up without the air pump mess. I've lost track of what year it was from, was thinking it was a little newer, maybe '92-'95? Thanks, Lorne

You can just cut that part of the bracket off. That's what I did with my 85 K20. I was going to do the same with another set up I have and one of my students managed to break both brackets (grr) so I didn't bother.
