Title: What's a 1983 6.2 Diesel worth?

I'm disposing of the 6.2 Diesel in my truck. I don't know if it runs or could run.
Whats it worth in this condition?

i would just take 500.00 if you can... its hard to say what it is worth not running and especially since its not a turbo... but if you can get more...cool        6.5 turbo is more desirable as far as i know

I traded a Fisher 7 1/2' plow for an entire 82 K 30 cab and chassis, with an excellent running 6.2, TH 400, with 4:56 gears. Had a less then year old starter on it, the injection pump had been rebuilt about 18 months before I got it. Frame and floor are rotted. 7 1/2' around here is worth about 175.00.
Not running I would think you would do good to get scrap price.

Around here they go for $500 not running if all of the accesories and brackets etc are still on it.

That is about the going rate here for them pulled and running if all the stuff is on them.  Of course you can sometimes find a whole truck with them in it.  I am looking for one right now.

A junk yard running 6.2 engine is about $700 with a 6 month parts warranty if that helps
