Hey guys, My tranny is bone stock I belive, Im running 10" of lift, 40" tires so im wondering If I should do a shift kit in the 350 or swap in a 400?? What do you guys think??
-
the 400 comes wit OD right? if so go with that to help with mpgs but if you just want to bog go with the 350 also go with a stall converter not sure what range but you should get one to help out
-
No the 400 is a 3 speed also.
-
well that blows my suggestion out of the water lol, i'v only dealt with the 350t so im no help
-
Lol thats alright, I think im going to stick with the 350. Its already here, its not slipping. I think I will do a Transgo shift kit, some stall, tranny cooler, what else is week on these? Should I upgrade the servos?
-
in my 86 i had a 350t blew it up so a friend had one built and he let me have it, we put it in it Had a shift kit i think 1500 stall man she shifted hard if you got in it. now my rear was all ready week had some play in the yoke but it was still running strong got in it one day going through a puddle i got into it and when she shifted she ended up blowing the rear apart almost put a hole in the differential cover.

Wow. I Just found out doing a VIN decoder that my truck came with a 6.2L Dieasl.
-
Keep in mind that the Turbo 400 uses a different transfer case than a Turbo 350.
-
th400's and much stronger if i were you and im sure that truck sees some muck, th400 with a shift kit and kevlar bands and it would be well worth its money in fun if you get a trans break ;D and bolt a np205 behind it and your set but avanced adapters makes any adapter you can prolly think of
-
Yeah you can say I use it for the mud. I already have the 205 TCase. I think for all the work and money I would have to drop to addapt the 400 I should just built the 350. the 350 has a better 1st gear. I have never heard of a trans brake for the mud. I have one in my pro street GN. why the mud?
