I would like to upgrade to the later style interior. I'm not sure when it starts but I like the 86 interior. Would this newer interior bolt right into my 73 or is modification required? Thanks for the help!

Yes & No, would be the correct answer. The door trim panels are longer on the '77-up. So if your replacing doors...buy the newer ones, if not, you will need to drill a few holes at the bottom & use spacers between the door & trim panel & use long screws. You will also need the '77-up "long" window regulators.
The dash pad is similar, it works, but needs a little help. The gauge cluster bezel will not have the wiper switch hole, depending on which one you get (non A/C), you may be able to cut the hole or use a '81-'82 bezel, it matches the dash pad & has the switch on the dash.
The seat, ect. goes in fine. Lorne

Great thanks, that clears it up for me. Too bad I didn't ask this question before I bought an 86 dash bezel! Oh well... it didn't set me back much. As for the dash pad, what kind of help does it need?

As I mentioned, if you have a non A/C '86 bezel, you can use it...just figure where the rectangle hole needs to be, based off of your old one bezel. Drill a couple holes & file the corners square. If you got an A/C bezel, the vent is where you need the switch I believe.
As for the dash pad, I'm thinking some of the slots up along the dashboard aren't in the same place, it's been a long while since I did this, so I may be off a little. Lorne

The Dash pad should swap out fine if you use all the year specific parts.
