i have a gear driven transfer case in a 77 chevy swb, not sure wat the number is, has anyone changed the seal in the front outputshaft that goes to front axle, ? how hard?
-
easy. Remove the driveshaft. Mark the nut on the companion flange to the shaft and the nut. Thats 3 witness marks. Just use a center punch. Take off the nut, flange and seal. You will need to ID the transfercase to get the right seal and fluid.

Depending on the transfer case there may be in inner seal also. It looks like a starburst
