Hi all,how hard would it be to go from a carb to tbi on my 350.
-
Depends, how far do you want to go? You'd need all the sensors for tbi, the tbi unit itself, electric fuel pump, and probably something like megasquirt. Now if you want it totally like say an 87-up TBI truck, you might as well get a donor and swap over everything.

I'm doing a conversion now on my mutt project. I am using the parts from a donor 89 burb
-
there is no aftermarket kit?
-
Yes Holley makes one. Check out Summit (http://store.summitracing.com/egnsearch.asp?Ntt=tbi&N=700+4294908216+4294840140+115+4294853151&Ntk=KeywordSearch)

Good luck with holley customer support. ::)

WOW...that is steep. You can definitely get a donor WAYYYYYYYYY cheaper than that an move it over.
-
The burban I scored is an 89 4x4 1500 5.7L, 700R4, 241 transfercase, 3.42:1 final drive. I bought it for $200 bucks. I ended up stripping it and making mad money off of it too. Even if money is no object I'd still buy a donor.

I agree, a donor is the way to go. I just got 2 Blazers; and 85 carb and an 87 TBI. The 87 I got only because of the running gear and I plan to convert the 85 to TBI if I can't find a good 6.5L diesel.
You can get a TBI intake and TB for about nothing and a harness from a couple places, but the Donor way is MUCH cheaper....

Thank's all,I'll go find a donor at a good price and get started.thanks for all the great input.
