87 Chevy R10- I removed the hold down bolt and clamp. The distributor won't come out.I've got it to come up @1/8 inch. Can I use a pry bar to help lift it? It is getting replaced.

spray in some pb blaster and rotate the housing back and forth up and down. Carbon is all it is. Just keep working it. Change the oil when you're done.

that happened to me a while back. I just kept trying and with a few curse words, she finally popped out.
I guess you could gently pry it if you are sure you aren't bending/breaking something. I'd put a wood block or something under the fulcrum you use to protect the intake, perhaps a long screwdriver under the first lip of the distributor should work--maybe tapping the handle of the screwdriver down (not in) while pressure is being held may work.

I had to use a pry bar on my 90 Burb to get it out. It was seriously stuck.

I've noticed that my pics aren't coming out as big as they need to be.I guess I'd better get back to Photobucket and try to fix.
