ok so i've pretty much decided that i need a new alt. the one i have is the o.e. one thats 65 amps. now my question is what are all the alts will bolt right onto my 350 that are atleast 120 amps or more.as in if i went to a parts place what all makes, models, and years should i be looking for?

generally speaking all gms are the same you will find that some of gms alt the pig tail plugs into the opposite side of the alt like i think most of them plug in about 10 o'clock but you can fin them that plug in at 6 o'clock. just go to autozone and tell them what you have they have a listing for i think 3 different alt all having diffrent amps i think the highest they go to is 90 amps

If you are looking for an alternator that produces brutal power at low rpm.
The amperage/rpm chart is alternator rpm (not engine rpm)
check these out

Order you Alt from summit. 800 230 3030. They have there brand for your truck for $140. And its 145 amps.
Stock Oe's were always 65 or 85 amp. Never enough.
Just call Summit up and tell them what you want. They will hook you up. Auto Zone will sell you a no brand for about the same cost but not near the Amps.
