I have been a little busy these past few days so I figured I would post on here what I was up to.
Friday afternoon I went and looked at a 6.2L Diesel in a CUCV truck that someone is pulling out. I plan to pick it up when he gets it pulled and put it in my new "Camo" blazer.
On the way to his house I had a tire on my Crew Cab seperate and was stranded on the road. Luckily he had a tire off his CUCV I could borrow until I got my new tires. That afternoon I scrabled with Toolmaster to find me some tires to fit my Hummer H2 wheels so I could take a trip to Nashville on Saturday. He came through and mounted them that evening. We also found the pitman arm and idler arm were shot. So I went and got replacements. Didn't get it fixed before the next day though.
Saturday I drive up to Nashville to pick up a Blazer fulltop and windshield frame to convert the "camo" Blazer. Picked it up and c-clamped it to the frame rails of the Crew and headed back home. The guy converted his 87 to a fulltop. It was a factory 6.2L truck with a 6.5L bottomend which he added a Sidewinder Turbo setup to. I finally got home around 7pm after leaving around 8am.
Sunday I took the top off and pulled the truck in to replace the pitman arm and idler arm. I should be getting it aligned tomorrow. The hummer H2 wheels made the Crew look MUCH better in Jamie's opinion.

Dont ya hate the little problems that screw up your plans.
I always run into them :)

Sounds like a manly kind of day. lol Post some pix!

I can post some pics of the aftermath but none of the actual events. No camera. Took the truck to be aligned and they said I need new upper/lower balljoints, steering box and upper shafts. They want $2000 to do it all. Uh no....

Dang! Sucks for people who can't or won't work on their own cars :D

If you dont mind, post some pics of the truck with the Hummer wheels. Im trying to talk Oldyeller into a set.

I will post them as soon as I can. I am putting the Impala wheels on my R10 as soon as I can find the lug lock key...

I had a real fun time this past Thrusday night trying to remove a stripped Wheel lock but Friday night Toolmaster dropped by with a wheel lock removal and viola' off in seconds.

Both of those sets of wheels look real good. Oldyellers is a semi floater rear axle, so the rear covers with fit. Now just got to convince her.

What about the people that don't have the time off for working on trucks ?
Chris works some long hours at his job. When most people are home with family and trucks, Chris is still working and is lucky to get off work around 7:30pm - 8pm. I know if he had the time that week to do it himself
he would have.
As I have said before !! Steering and Brake's should be one of the first things to check on these trucks.
A truck that wont run has a lesser chance of injuring someone than a truck that wont steer or wont stop !!!

The Impala wheels look great! And if Mrs Kaos lkes the Hummer wheels then we do too. :D
-
...and if Elizabeth Hannah likes them, they stay, right Chris?

Correct on Both accounts and sometimes not in that order! ;)
