Title: Fiberglass door Panels

Has anyone removed the armrest from their door panels to make them flat and smooth.  I have already cut them off but to make the whole front side smooth I was thinking about gluing a section of formica or something thin on top and then using fleece and fiberglass resin, cover them and then paint them.  If anyone has done something similar or has suggestions please any help would be appreciated.

don't know if that helps but it does give you a clean look
