Title: Water leak
Post by: Stowburb on March 27, 2009, 03:56:59 pm
Hey Guys,
I am installing OEM carpet in my '91 burb, it had a rubber floor in it and when i removed it i found the floor to be soaked! Best i can tell it is coming from somewhere near where the door hinges bolt to the body.
Has anyone ran into this? is there a common problem with these trucks? and what can i do to correct it?
Thanks for any help, just dont want my " rustless" truck to rust!

 Chris

Dry everything up and set a sprinkler on the side that is leaking and wait. You should be able to see the water coming in and pinpoint the source of the leak. Good luck.

Look around the windshield and kick panel area. The cowl can back up also.

You may also want to open up the cowl area and see if the seal is rusted.  I did my annual cowl cleanup about 3 weeks ago to get the junk out of there.
