hi all. i figured i would post some pics of my project. i have a 78 c10 short bed. and here are some of the specs.
2003 vortec 5.3 engine
edelbrock 2215 roller cam
edelbrock performer intake
msd 6ls ignition controller
Barry Grant speed demon 650 carb
msd wires
Turbo 400 Trans
shift kit
3500 stall converter w/anti balloon plate
Drop front coil springs
Rear drop shackles
20" pro comp wheels
12 bolt w 3.73 gears
I plan on dropping the truck 2 more inches front and rear, adding cal-tracs traction bars and a big shot nitrous system. still trying to decide on what color to paint it when the bodywork is done. it was originally that blue turquoise color kinda like marina blue on the old corvettes.
This website is great, there is tons of information, and lots of great helpful people.
Here are some pics

Sweet ride and Welcome from Florida. I prefer the Buckets. I put Buckets in my truck and my wife raised heck. She made me change it back. Buckets only allowed two of us in the truck. With the Bench I can take my two Kids......lol

I've got 2 colors for you to think about.
1. Gun metal gray
2. Hugger orange with black tinted windows, if the law allows.
-
have thought about both of those. the problem with hugger orange is that there are 2 shortbeds here in tucson that are orange. i do like gunmetal grey. I wish we didnt have a tint law here. sucks.
-
Tent law here in Ohio also. It has to be light tint. Mine is going to be 5% when I get done. They can't see it if the windows down, no a/c!! ;D
-
here, they will watch people pulling out of parking lots and rolling their windows down. and they will pull you over if they think its even just a step too dark. stupid tint law.
-
I do understand the law and think it's a good safty law for our officers.
This isn't going to be my daily driver, just a cruiser for me and the wife to get out in. We were married in 1986, and that is the same year as the truck. Don't want to try to take her out in an mini van anymore, want to take her out in style...
-
Two tone grey and orange. Paint the top gun metal grey down to about 3 inches below the top of the fender, then orange the rest of the way down.
-
Green and black ;)
-
green and black would be nice. those were my high school colors
-
you guys think i should keep the 20 in wheels, or put on my 15 inch prostars and m/t streets
-
I think it looks good as is, but the Prostars wouldnt hurt the looks. These trucks look good either way.
-
I think it looks good the way it sits. Nice stance and all.
Keep the 20's on it and add color...
-
Not a fan of the 20"s but they look good.

You should buy some torq thrusts man.
-
Do you know the name or item number of your wheels? Or can you refer me to a website? Thanks
Edit: I found them. Series 6002. They look good.
-
I think you should go with pearl white. White looks good on the shorties and in the Tucson heat, you and your truck will probably appreciate the light color.
