Title: Coolant on oil filter
Post by: the_legend_1981 on April 04, 2009, 08:47:41 pm
I noticed a little bit of coolant on the engine right above the oil filter. No bubbles in radiator or steam from exhaust. I'm thinking its a slow leak from the freeze plug right above it. How slow can those leak?

Very slow. I had a bigblock in my 77 that the freeze plugs rotted out of it. I replace two in the truck then decided to pull it and just rebuild it. They can be relpaced in the truck, but it is a royal pain.

Moroso Ceramic Sealer.
The kind that can't be used with anti freeze still in the motor works the best.
Follow the directions on the bottle or it won't work right either.

There is either Moroso Ceramic Sealer or not Moroso Ceramic Sealer. Use the Moroso or don't bother.
