Awesome! Love the old school rims!
-
Sweeeeet. love em
-
Cool score! Lets see em on the truck.
-
get a gallon of this http://www.autodetailsupplyoutlet.com/xcart/product.php?productid=16148
spray it on and you will be amazed. Then paint inside the spokes again and you will have nicer wheels than you can ever buy

Gotta get some new rear tires first, they won't even hold air.The guy I got them from said they haven't been on the road in allmost 20yrs. so they have a lot of dry rot.
-
I always like those...
-
Those will look great on your truck. Nice score. I wish someone would start making some of the old school rims for our trucks again.
-
real nice!
are these still available/made by someone today?
-
Not that I've seen. Every modern wheel seems to have that crack daddy bling look.
-
these are nice, seem to be real popular. who was the manufacturer/what was the style name/what years were they produced? with some good background info. it would be easier to search on Craig's list & e bay etc. these remind me of the old dukes of hazard wheels on the general lee.
-
Didn't the A-team have those on their van?
-
got my approval ;)
-
These are made by "Western". I have heard them called turbines , not sure exactly what years they were availible but pretty sure 70's & 80's.
I will try to get a good pic. of the inside of one of the rims to show the name.
-
Those style wheels were on my 74 when I bought it. If I can find pix I'll post em but they looked sweet.
-
those are really cool.... next best thing to alluminum slots (jellybeans)
-
only pic I could find with mine here on my 1980

Vile, it jusy so happens I was going through and old post this morning and found this picture.
-
Also wondering if you have a close up pics of this rim.
-
Yeah those ones have less spokes. I always keep my eyes out for old school wheels. I'm sick of seeing bling blings on everything personally.
bfofish did you get em cleaned up yet?
-
I have a set of each wheel here, the hurricanes came on my 75 Chevy LWB, and the others came on my 64 Chevelle when I got it back in 1985, but they are 14" wheels.
-
Yeah those look ok.
Look good on the Chevy pickup, i've had 'em on the last 3 or 4 four pickups ,bought 'em in the seventies.
-
A company named ET made some up until about 1991. A was going to buy some 15"x 10"s for my 88 jimmy but the tire store talked me out of it. They found me a set of 4 but they told me that since they were out of production I couldn't get a replacement if one got damaged. I went with American Racing outlaw II's. Kinda regret it.
-
Sorry guy's I have not had a chance to clean them up yet. I just bought a house, and now I have to move all my stuff (I might need a month just to move the truck stuff alone). :P Then I'm hopeing to get some tires and get em cleaned up and mounted next month.

I bought a set of brand new aluminum slots for my camaro in high school. American Racing Indy's. 14"x8" rear, 14"x7" front. That was cutting edge back in the day.
-
I beliee the turbine rims on my 1980 GMC (see pic) came from a 1976 Firebird Formula.
Are they factory GM rims or aftermarket?
-
Donf, those are aftermarket made by ARE, I have a set and they are Uni-lug.
-
" crack daddy bling " lol ;D
-
I went with American Racing outlaw II's. Kinda regret it.
What's wrong with ARE outlaw 2's ? I love those wheels.

I guess it's just personnel taste. It just seems like back mid 80's to early 90's there were allot more choices as far as 15" rims and 16.5" rims. Now all of the manufacturers are concentrating on 22"s.
It's not like I hated the rims or anything, I just don't think you can beat a pair of aluminum slots or turbine rims on one of our trucks.
-
Slots (5-slots we used to call them) look awesome and I'm very glad they are still made today. If I didn't have Centerline Convo-Pro's on my truck, I'd probably get some. For a time I had some Edelbrock 426 rims (made my Ultra)
http://www.vctwheel.com/Edelbrock.html
on my truck that were very similar to 5-slots. They were chrome-plated though and kinda had a plastic look to them. I grew to like them though.
-
fitz.... ya.. those are the ones I am looking for for my swb
