Ok I was not really wanting to do this to my truck. but my partner talked me into doing it. i order new headlight (the glass part) that a H4 buld would fit in. They were really nice and made with glass. than Got the HID's for it. Do not have to cut any wires everything just plugs in.. Let me tell u all these make such a huge difference at night that its one of the best things I have done to my truck. Check out the pics . the brighter ones is when the HID's were on the other is the high beam(ha ha if you can call it that)

Those kits always infuriate me..That reflector housing is NOT designed as a proper projector for HIDs..You just created a glare machine that will blind on-coming traffic. HIDs require a precisely tuned reflector specifically designed for projecting light from the xenon HID "bulbs"..I've seen some of those conversions done on other vehicles locally, and have been blinded to a point of seeing spots for a good 5-10 minutes afterwords just from meeting them coming over a hill.

I don't man i had someone else drive my truck and i was in another car they were no more blinding than other cars that come with them. Now I did aim them down alot more from were they were with the stock lights.Just so i would not blind people. I'm sure there alot of people out there that don't care about other drivers and aim them higher. but anyways I like them.

this is just the guts of the lamp. The lense is just that, a lense and can be replaced if it gets cracked or damaged. It gets sealed to the factory 91 bucket with some "dumb dumb" ribbon sealer. I dont have any complete pictures of the lamp but here are some output pictures.
These pictures were taken at 8:45 at night. I used a tri pod and set the nikon to auto apature for best photo with no flash.

This was taken with only one headlight done, geeze you could walk infront of the regular halogen and block it and not even know you stood infront of it... With the conversion I fabricated man, clear cutoff just like the high end cars, and I never noticed the street signs poping out at me. The light is so much more concentrated and wide it makes them glow.

Im going to start another retrofit, maybe 2. One will be with what I have, the Hella e-55. Thats a Bi-Xenon DS2 style projector. I didnt realize I had 3 of them in the project drawer. I want to do a FX-r retrofit... they throw the light further than the Hella's but thats a out of pocket 135 that I dont feel like letting go at the moment. The Hella e-55's go for the same price too. Maybe this weekend I will start the process.

In the process of this. Were your conversion housings with just the h4 bulb REALLY dim? I havent gotten my hid kits yet, but the h4 bulbs in the 6024 h4 conversion housings are super dim. ONE of my 20 dollar pair of fog/driving lights is brighter than my high beams

The original projectors came from a volkswagen jetta and had a halogen... probally bone stock. That seemed to out perform the sealed beams that I had originally. By no means was it a uber bright light that casted way out... rather a good light output. With the projectors, you cant see the beam clear as day at say 8pm unless its like real dark and then you can see things you normally couldnt see. With the projector bulbs, street signs, street markings and other stuff becomes more visiable as they catch your eyes.
