One of my friends told me the Stainless Steel Headers that came on some GM trucks were a good design, I'm wanting to upgrade the exhaust on a 454 going into my 1975 Jimmy and have found a couple of sets of these factory stainless steel headers for sale. I noticed both ads I'm looking at describe them as headers and not exhaust manifolds?
Here's a set on ebay

Anyone have some insights or experiences on these types of headers?

I personally would run some sanderson headers without the air fittings.

I have been curious about these as well. I can get a set with the holes already welded up for about $100. Worth it???

I wouldn't waste my $ on them unless you had to run manifolds. Put the cash towards some nice headers.

I was just considering them for my 86 crew. It doesnt have a hi-po engine in it, and if they would help over the cast iron manifolds, then I was going for them. Your answer is good enough for me. Thanks Vile.

Yeah I know. I am considering some upgrades, but not until I get the other two straightened out. This one will be the tow rig. I know a compression boost, cam, intake/carb, and exhaust upgrades are gonna be needed. I really want to put a Cummins in it tho. Once again, after the other two. This one will get a paint job hopefully soon, but performance will be later
