Title: Problem after cab bushing install! HELP!
Post by: tx5.7travel on April 17, 2009, 07:19:10 pm
Hello Gents! I bought a Prothane Bushing Kit and when I installed the cab mounts, the driver side rear of the cabe was about a half inch lower than the rest making the bed offset (or higher, it does not line up). The driver side came out pretty good. Has any one had this problem, maybe shim the cab or some I did wrong, Please help. Thanks!

The bushings are all the same size? Sure you didn't get a mismatched one or something? The hole in the frame bracket isn't rusted out?

Set your tire pressures and measure your trim heights.

You might have accidentally put your core support bushings on the back on that one side only.  I am with Vile, if you measure your trim, I bet you will find you put your front is too high.  But that is just my opinion.

The bushings where matched up with the old ones before installed. They looked simple to install. I did set the tire pressure and measured the trim from the garage floor to the trim, 29" on the driver's side and 28 1/2" on the passenger side. I noticed that the front passenger side had a shim in it when I removed the old cab bushing? All mounts had a little rust but where in solid shape? I took a visual of the bushing and it look like the rest and not over tightened?

2wd or 4wd? Now measure your spring hieight and see if you have spring fatigue or a suspension problem

Is the floor support/pan rusty?
Measure from the bottom of the frame and leave the suspension out of the mix.  Contrary to popular belief cars don't site 100% level.
