Hi, I replaced the dimmer switch in my 82 chevy c10, and now the female connection that hooks into the dimmer switch gets really really hot! I mean really hot! I have not been driving my truck at night because of this. So, any ideas. Could it be the wrong switch or something wrong with the switch. Thanks Much! Justin

Make sure all the connections are tight. I think its the slip on spade type, just reach in the plug with a little screw driver and mash them down a little. A loose connection will definately cause it to get hot.

lose or poor connections will make it get hot as do as chop said and also make sure the plug is sitting on the switch right and all the waydown. probably some simple fix. BTW why did you have to replace the switch I'm also leaning to a ground problem, that caused the old switch to burn up and same deal with this one. don't think a little warm is OK with the switch eather fix the problem you don't want no fire(http://www.naioa.com/v2/modules/Forums/images/smiles/flamethrowingsmiley.gif)
