Title: My 1986 C-10 project
Post by: ant305 on April 21, 2009, 10:25:42 am
Bought this in October of 2008 as a beater to help with a move. When I bought the car the previous owner have me almost $20,000 in receipts. He was tired of messing with the truck and sold it to me for $2000.

Reading through the receipts it was recently painted PPG Indigo Blue with substantial body work, a new .30 over 355 Jasper 350 with a custom cam, rebuilt transmission, almost $2000 in a complete new AC system, new tires, brakes, headers, carb, etc...

Took me about a month to get all the bugs out, including replacing the Holley 670 to a Holley 600, adjust timing, and fix all the "I put that in drinking beer" mistakes...

This thing is a straight as an arrow...

I bought this for my move then I was planning to sell it. But over the past few months I have caught myself upgrading alot, replacing alot of small stuff, so it has turned into my project truck. Ill get better pics soon.

Thanks for the welcome, yea it wasn't a bad deal, but the first few months of fixing all the alcohol-induced mistakes I thought I would never see light at the end of the tunnel. Mechanically, its done. I would like to upgrade from the TH350 to a 700R4 because I drive this truck everywhere. The interior is complete but needs work. I'm re-doing everything all black, but the dash is beyond repair.

I get offers all the time to sell it as is for twice what I paid for it, but I love this truck. I wanted a 70's camaro, but after finding nothing but rusted out cars, I might as well keep what I have.

yea body wise its in near perfect shape, only rust are on the bed rails that already show signs of being bondo'ed to death, so eventually a new bed will find a home on that frame.

I found out about this forum through your speaker kick panels, I will be ordering a set within a week.
