Are you talking about the ones like on this truck. Its not the year you want, but may clarify what you are talking about.

yeah they are the mirrors i am talking about, i have seen them on a lot of other cars, but never on a 73-87

i have seen them on here b4 i think on a step side forget who has it but i know i seen them b4

I bought a set for mine. I didn't like them and am not going to use them. I will be using the stock sport mirrors. They were not very usable from the top of the door and from the front edge between the windshield and door; the piece between the door glass and vent window blocked visability. I just could find a usable spot for them and they looked too small for a larger vehicle. I also found that I liked the square design of the small rectagle stock sport mirrors matched the truck well

i have the sport mirrors on my truck now but they are both messed up, and the new doors i bought dont have holes drilled for the mirrors, so i figured i would like to put the peep mirrors on it, and it would be a little different.

Just take your mirrors off your old doors, measure your holes, drill new holes. If you need new mirrors, then the base should be the same. Or like you said, go with a different mirror all together. Maybe even some West coast mirrors.

its not that i dont know how to do it, i dont want to do it. i like the fact of not having mirrors mounted in the traditional spot. what exactly are west coast mirrors? are they the big oafy ones? if so, i would never put them on any of my vehicles, but thanks for the advise.

It is the big oafy ones like on this wrecker truck. I could not find any pictures with them on our trucks.
