Title: A/C fix/retro
Post by: Chevy_86_K20 on May 02, 2009, 01:47:42 pm
I need to get my A/C up and running again now that summer is here. One of my steel braided hoses ended up rubbing a hole in one of the A/C metal lines going into the dryer. So, it looks like I need a new dryer and some way to prevent the hose from rubbing. My question is, should I convert to r134 now? What experiences have any of you had with this conversion? What might i need and where might I get everything I need? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Get a new accumulator and the necessary lines. Pick up a new orifice tube, esther oil and R134a. Once you replace everything take it to a shop and have them vacuum the system first. If you know anyone with a vacuum pump they can do it for you.
