is it best to install headers to the block before you put the engine in they are long tubes on a 1982 gmc sierra v6 converted to v8 ;D
-
I would put them in after.
-
yes put them in after. You may have to work around the starter a little bit and put your spark plugs in after the headers.
-
I found for longtubes it was a 2 man job, and easier after. Hardest part is actually the drivers side....or at least thats what we found.
-
It's not really a 2 man job but it might make it easier. One thing you also might want to do if they are coated is to bubble wrap them first so you don't mark them up.
-
Yeah....mine are coated....so thats why I say 2 man....easier to see and avoid where they are gonna get scratched.
-
its more like a 2 man and a couple of six packs kinda job. ;D
-
One to put in the headers and one to hold the six pack.
-
If anyone is interested in team work, i know my way around the six pack very well ;D lol
-
I myself like to help out the guy putting the headers in by gently placing the beers in a cooler with ice and a ice pack. Ice for the beer and the ice pack for the knuckles. Hey what are friends for...right?
