Title: Throttle Body Retro fit
Post by: martin79 on May 10, 2009, 09:03:25 pm
I want to install a throttle body 454 in place of the carburated 350 in my restored 79 crewcab .

Maybe a 90-95 model engine..........use the factory harness or............... aftermarket harness and convert an older 454 ?

   Thoughts....suggestions........pitfalls.........90 day loans.....thanks in advance.

Do you have a factory harness?  You will need to pull some wires out of it, but an aftermarket is generally stand alone.

The holley pro jection is 980.00 at summit......i guess i get a carburated 454 and go that route,...or the 95 model with factory harness for 1600.......local recycler.

Whats the pros and cons here on a 79 truck ( a nice truck restored),

Money not only issue, ease and suitability for my truck. Are there any factory exhaust manifolds that would look good as well.....the 95`s maybe..???

why not look on craigslist or eBay for a donor? Where do you live?
