Pulled out the plastic rocker panel molding for the passenger side of my '85 C20. There's a white plastic coated wire that runs up the rear cab corner into the roof. The wire is cut, but was running in the direction of the dash.
My cab light is working, it's wire is run on the drivers side. So what is this mystery wire?

is it a factory wire or something someone added? Does the truck have clearance lights?
-
There are no clearance lights and no cargo light either.
White plastic coating about 1/4" diameter reads "Ultralink Cushcraft/Signals" on the side.

That does not look/sound like a factory wire. Lorne

Put a test light on it. Is it live? Live with ignition? Live with lights? Perhaps it was a cablight feed.

Someone probably put some ugly siren light on top at one point.

A Google search for Ultralink Cushcraft brought up results talking about antennas and stuff. So I'm thinking maybe it was for a CB antenna or some sort of police scanner maybe???

That's very possible. They did have a CB at one time. Thanks guys.
