I have an 85 chevy c-10 no ac and water coming in floor vent on drivers side. Does anyone know what causes this.

If you grab the bottom of the dash are (metal part) is your hand wet? Mine did the same thing and it was caused by the windshield gasket not sealing. Huge gap in the upper corner on the drivers side. Got some 3m flowable windshield sealant and filled in the gap and all is good.

the dash part is dry just wet around vent and some water on floor mat upper left corner. resealed windshield at bottom corner because it used to leak bad and fill drivers side floor and dash where you are talking about was wet. Got that fixed now, water must have found another way in.

If you look under your cowl filler vent panel thingy I bet you find some rust. Or it has found a way around your old reseal job.
