Title: Post your Differential pics for Identification

Post by: BigBadJohn on June 05, 2009, 01:57:46 pm: I just picked up a 75 C-10 yesterday. Its got a 12 bolt rear end and supposedly its the original. What gears came in the 12 bolt rears and is it a possibility of it being either a floater or a posi still?

A number of gears could be in it and it could or could not be a posi. Pop the cover and you can find out both fast. The ring/pinion count is stamped on the gears...

I have the same rear differential... Is there a marking on it to tell me the gear ratio?
