Choosing a carburetor and intake for my 454 engine swap project
So far I have chosen,
Intake: Weiand Stealth 8018

Carburetor: Holley 0-4779C 750 Double Pumper

Any comments or suggestions?

A double pumper is going to be overkill for a street truck.
I personally like q-jets for their drivability, and I only like Holleys for strip use.

How about some more info on your powertrain? Gear ratios? Trans? Converter? Cam? Rocker ratio? Exhaust system?

Axles are 8-bolt 3/4 ton from a 1980 4x4 Suburban
Gears are 4:11
Tranny: 700R4 with shift kit and best of the best components. (Tranny works great, built by Dana Sniff who did all of Boyd Coddington's trannys)
Torque Convert is stock.
Cam: Been told it's a tick or two more radical than what came stock in this ad (http://"http://www.perfprotech.com/store/product/New-GM-Longblock-74L454-MAG-392hp-454380,24975.aspx")
Engine was bored 30 over, don't know the type of pistons.
Engine was being built for about a 22' Day Cruiser, owner no longer can find the paper work but says he remembers the bill was around $3000.00 All work was done at one of the reputable engine shops in the SoCal area. (Guy that has it is reputable business owner and gearhead like us)
Truck has Flowmaster mufflers and I think 2" diameter pipes from collector to tail pipe end.
Current Tires: 35" Boggers
Future Tires: 44" Swampers or Boggers
