Sweet deal.  Thank you so much!

Any idea on how to identify what kind of gearing the 10 bolt has in it?

pull the cover off and read the numbers on it and divide.

not sure if you have the RPO codes in your glovebox, they will tell you gear ratio. my 82 has 3.08, others have 3.42 (i believe).   another way to tell is to mark your driveshaft, then turn the wheel one full rotation while counting the driveshaft rotations.  the ammount your driveshaft turns is approximate gear ratio.  to know for sure what you have, you have to pull the cover and count.
