Man, I would go for it if I was into steps. That seems like a great deal!

Why is this even a question? :) If the bed is good, it's worth at least the price of the whole truck. I'd kill for a rust free FL vehicle.

I think it would be a good buy, but do you think you would be able to settle for it being less than perfect. We've seen enough of your other projects that even if you just plan on sticking an engine in it and running it you will start to tinker with all the little bells and whistles that annoy you and before you know it another full off resto. Not that it is a bad thing just depends on if your ready for another full blown project. But what the heck go for it then when you do get one done you can start all over again with another one. Sounds like fun.

Well heres the thing,
i appreciate the comments on how picky i am and such.I also been thinking about that as well and i figured by the time i`m done i`m figuring at least 30,000 to 40k into it.Like a 572 with a tremec 6 speed. All air ride suspension. All new body panels and then a 2 tone silver and black paint job... Not to mention wheels and tires so yeah i did figure i be going over board on this 1 as well. I may just let it pass and down the road if i find another 1 i`ll jump on the idea..It sucks though when your as picky as i become, (I guess its a good thing since i paint military planes for the government for a living) it can haunt you. So maybe i`ll just let this 1 go and let someone else buy it and enjoy it,cause it would just sit in the corner of my shop till i was ready. And right now i`m on fatigue level with this 1 as i`m trying to get it done and may take a break after this for a while....
thanks

I hope I didn't hurt your feelings saying you were picky, by all means it was a compliment. You take pride in what you do and it shows. I just saw you were doing alot of work fixing imperfections and know that when you saw the same ones in the other truck your gonna have to fix them also.

JR,
no not at all man.. I just want to do the job once and thats all.You figure you got so much time and money invested into a project just to have to redo it down the road 4-5 years later and you kick yourself in the rear for not taking the time before to do the job right the 1st time.. I opted to let the truck go i am just going to focus on this 1 and once its done i figure i`m gonna retire for a few years and if i get the itch again i may try n do this again.. But anyway i use to enjoy buying rides, fixing them up and driving them and either trade them or sell them, but i guess i`m getting worn out from all the years of bodywork cause it has caught up to me and i`m just trying to get this 1 done by pushing myself.. Saturday i was out in the garage till 2am pushing myself to getting the doors done, that was welding on the new skin and doing all the bodywork to it... I couldv`e quitted and picked up on sunday but i wanted to get them done so i can move on to another body panel.. But all in all no jr i`m not upset or mad i`m cool with everyones opinon on this subject..
thanks

Its a shame your not getting the truck since its an awesome deal but I can understand. I bought my 86 thinking that this would be cheaper than going out and buying a nice, newer truck. HA! by the time I finish this truck, I'll have alot more than 15K into this thing. I promised myself when I finish this one, Im taking a break and saving my money for a newer truck....lol ;D anyway, your doing a great job on your current project and keep up the good work!

Andy,
thanks man.I would buy it but basicially you summed it up its $$$$$$ and time.. The current project i bought a lot of NOS parts i bought on ebay for it and some pieces i bought way before this teardown ever happened.. I`m figuring at least 20k into this truck before its all said and done.. I got about 22,000 into my 1970 convertible cougar you see in some of the pictures.. Plus over the years i have had many cars an sunk thousands into them.. I am just burnt out and drained from all the finances it has costed me over the years.. I always wanted to buy a corvette and i figured if i couldve saved the money i put into the vehicles i bought i wouldve had 1 bought n paid for by now.But eh i had ome fun with the toys in my past but i still may build 1 more toy. What i dont know but it`ll be something i always wanted to have.. I appreciate the kind words on the current truck i`m looking forward to seeing it in paint soon,,REAL soon...
thanks
