I am looking at replacing a lot of items in an '87 Silverado cab. I am pretty sure it originally had all black interior except for the gray velour door upper inserts and the seat cover.
I was thinking of going back with gray for the carpet, door panels, upper and lower door panels inserts, kick panels and the actual door panels to brighten the interior up some. The problem is I can't envision what it would look like and don't know what other items should be changed.
Is it worth it or just say to heck with it and go back with the original black?
Thanks!

I say do it. What color is the truck? Do it.

The exterior colors are black with silver inset. The cab interior painted parts are all black. It looks to me like nearly everything in the cab was black originally except for the seat covers and the upper door inserts (both gray).
Like I said, the thought was to go with more gray to brighten the interior up and to match the seat original covers. My biggest concern is that is will look goofy after I have committed to it, blowing a lot of cash in the process. Also trying to envision the gray door panels on a black door. I think it will be fine, just can't get it in my mind's-eye.

You should do it. My pickup is black too but with red interior which I am not a fan of and I was thinkin' gray as well. I think it would look good.

I am thinkin gray too. It is blue now, or at least it was 10 years ago, whihc is fine with the white ext, but I am planning on paint in the future. Most colors I am considering will work with gray. So tell you what, get the gray, and if it looks good post pics so we can decide how it will look on ours. And if it looks bad, I'll buy everything from you used and paint to match ;)

That's almost sound logic!
I just hope you're not in a huge rush since I need to get the exterior done 1st!

Post a picture of it. It's hard to imagine.

No rush bro; trust me, the interior of that truck is the least of my worries right now. Just keep me in mind ;)
