Title: How do you eat an elephant? Getting started....
Post by: RMC_SS_LDO on June 06, 2009, 11:04:26 pm
Evening!

I am finally back home from deployment and intend to get started on our truck!

My '87 Silverado is overall in descent shape, but needs to be gone thru inside an out.  No major damage and it is mechanically sound (for a 20+ year old vehicle); the problem is I don't know the best place to start.  Guessing getting all of the body work, paint and weather-stripping done 1st will help seal up the interior to stop it from getting any worse.

Hopefully, we can get her in for the body work and paint in a month or so.  For now just doing research for pieces/parts focusing on the exterior for now.  When the weather clears, I'll get some pics.  The intent (hopefully) get going with this and start a project thread in the Member's rides section!

X3 on your service to our country. My personal opinion would be do as much mechanical work as you can first. Less chance of chipping or scratching the new paint.

Just glad to be back!

It has been raining like crazy here so no new pics.  Actually when it's wet, the paint looks pretty good....  ???
