Kind of a long way from doing this, but oh well. My truck did not come with one of those lights on the cab that shines down into the bed. Well, i do a lot of fishing and camping and outdoor stuff so i could really use some lights that would illuminate the whole truck bed for me. I dont like the idea of cutting a whole in the top of my cab either. Plus i just think a smooth cab looks better. So my idea is some kind of string of L.E.D's that can go right underneath the bedrails. They would not be able to be seen, and being l.e.d's they would not drink too much power. Any idea's on a particular product that could do this? I would need to install a switch in the cab, but that's ok any old switch from radioshack would do just fine.

That seems like what i am looking for. However they appear to be only 39 inches long. And i dont know if there is any way to link 4 of them together on 1 switch. That's how much it would take as i have a longbed.

Just make a parallel circuit

Wonder how bright the ones yall linked are? Ever had any experience with them?

The ones from Grote that I linked to are fairly bright, we use them in all the compartments in the fire trucks, and I also know a few truck drivers that run 2-3 lengths of it down there trailer for interior lighting and itès bright as day
