Title: C10 Carburetor
Post by: rb43d on June 12, 2009, 12:44:23 pm
Hey Guy's,

I have an '85 Silverado C10 with a 305.  The carb is basically shot and I want to replace it. I'm looking for suggestions on what would be a good carb to replace the Rochester with and new carb part#'s and accessory kits for installation if needed would be a great help. Any pro's or con's to say Holley vs. Edelbrock?
Thanks in advance,

Boone

What do you want to do with it?

For a daily driver, the q-jet is best. Nothing wrong with a properly tuned q-jet.

I bought the truck a couple years ago from an elderly neighbor down the street, it only has 75K on it and is in awesome shape so I'm in the process of starting to sink some cash into it to trick it out just a bit, I want to stay with the "original look" side and not get too carried away. So I really only drive on weekends or to work occasionally but would like to get better performance out of the engine, I hear the 350's are better but nothing I can do about that!

Why not just rebuild your carb?

^^^

I was looking at the kits for mine and theyre only $22 at autozone. Ill just have to try and not rip into it like the edelbrock carb I tried rebuilding a couple years ago  :-[
