Title: 1987 GMC (Roll'em)
Post by: vsoree on June 23, 2009, 11:32:28 pm
Hey I been here reading for a while, so i decided to introduce myself. about three month I got bit by the bug and decided to build a C10. I sold my 2003 F150 for a project truck that I cant drive go figure ??? But here she is let me know what y'all think. Its a 1987 GMC, but I switching everything to look like a Chevy. It has a 350 combo.
The 1st day I went to look at it. It was raining cats and dogs The truck wouldn't start so I took these picture on my cell phone to think about if I wanted to buying it.

After going home spending hours of thinking and search Craigslist for another C10.
I waited one week I made an offer and the guy bit. So he delivered it to my house.
Then I had to figure out what to tell my wife, "yeah she still mad at me,lol".

You went from a running 03 Ford to a pushable 87 Chevy... She shouldnt be mad, that is a good upgrade in my book, seriously. Welcome, looking forward to more pics.

So at this point I thought all I had to to do was sand it down and  get some interior piece, at least i got it started it was a fuse 8)

So now in my head its time to get some new shoes ;D 22" Foose wheels.

The next thing was to fix the doors, I wanted door handle but the guy who sold it to me me assed over the doors bad. He glued washers behind the locks and Bondo over it so now the hunt was on for new doors.

So I finale agreed on a color for the truck, but my biggest pet peeves is seeing the old color on a car like under the hood. so time to disassemble. and check for rust.

Great to see you have a little helper there with you.  I think little guys need to learn to work on cars/trucks.  Will save them lots of $$$$ if they learn while they are little.   It might even keep them out of trouble in the future, it did me, except a few tickets here and there.

Great project you guys have there, keep up the good work, and keep the guy busy with it.  Looks like he is working hard...

Hopefully I can save it for him, when he grows up and it will be worth something.

It looks great!!Are yu fiberglassing your instrument panel?  It looks like you filled your holes for your readio and your heater/ac controls...are you relocating them or just doing away with them all together?

haha what's up. 2 friends of mine own some spots out my way that sell wheels and stuff, so if i mural my boy's wall i can get a set of rims for my truck but i'm kinda thinking maybe keeping em small and not going with the 22's he offered. my drop isn't so extreme and i'm not trying to go that low i still want it to be driveable. right now i got some old cragar's on there, and one needs replaced cuz it's dinged up pretty good since the old owner wrecked the truck so bad. but i like how that looks so far. keep the pics comin
