Hello all,
At full throttle my Blazer stalls when I hit 2nd gear. It dives down and then imediatly comes back. Could this be a choke problem?

after five or six minutes of running, your choke should be all the way open. If it is open then, no, it is not a choke problem. Sounds like a vacuum leak or something. Check your vacuum line going to the modulator and where it ties into the intake behind the carb, ensure there is no leak there by spraying WD40 around it during idle and see if rpms go up.

Hmmmmmmmm Converter?

Sounds like fuel starvation. Check for kinked fuel lines, hoses first.

One other note, it does'nt always do this, but it did it last night. When I hit second gear at full throttle, it stalled for a split second and came back, then stalled and came back. This went back and forth about 3 times, each time not as much till the rpm's came up enough to continue.

I'm with Vile, sounds like fuel starvation. Check your fuel filter, the fuel pressure/volume at the carb. When's the last time you changed that filter?

I checked the fuel filter about a year ago. Ok, I know it's been awhile since I posted, but it runs fine when I stay out of the gas. I'd like to get into the gas every now and then. Even with the puny 305 it'll bar the tires hitting second. I miss jumping on it.

Are you sure the accelerator pump is working correctly? With the engine off, do you get a pump of fuel when you snap the throttle?

yes
