Hey Guys.
I'm sorry if this has been beat to death, but I couldn't find a thread that covered the info that I am looking for, and I didn't want to hi-jack a thread.
So...
I have a 1986 C10 Custom Deluxe. It has a TH350 (stock) transmission in it. I would like to go to the 700R4 for the obvious benefits. Without going into a detailed walk-through, can someone hit on the major points of what I can expect? For example, the driveshaft, the crossmember, etc.
Also, where is the best place to get transmissions, and would I receive any credit for sending the 350 back to the vendor?

Well it has been discussed here 79077970987 times so a search or browse would probably reveal what you need. There would be no core obviously as it is not the same trans. Just buy a unit from summit. You will have to get a torque converter and relocate the crossmember/trans mount. Driveshaft length can easily be altered and you would need to satisfy the tcc solenoid. Go with the recommendations of the manufacturer of your trans.

I didn't even think of Summit when I was thinking of getting a 700R4. For what they claim (handling 450+ HP), this is one heck of a deal:

I figured it had, Vile. I must just be using the wrong search terms. :( :-[ :-\
Is there another set of holes in the frame to accept the cross member move, or will I have to drill?

in the search box type in "700R4 crossmember" You should see plenty of results.
