Title: Issues with my truck
Post by: Unofficial on July 06, 2009, 02:06:21 pm
Hey everyone, I haven't been on here in a while, a lot has been going on...

Well, my truck has been acting up for a while now. It will stall when decelerating to come to a stop, and when I'm switching into reverse. It's almost like the idle RPM is too low. There is a pretty noticeable hissing when I first start it up, and it's pretty loud when I accelerate when it's cold. It will slowly go away as it warms up, it seems. I can't find any vacuum leaks though. I've replaced the TB gasket where it meets the intake manifold, I've replaced the fuel filter, and I changed to 350 injectors and ECM. It's an '87 350 TBI with a 700r4 with a shift kit. I don't know if any of these could be causing problems, but I came across these the other day and I don't know what they are. Can anyone identify these? The first one is coming from my fuel pump relay and the other is coming from my fusebox.

Fuel pump relay, test lead, connectors for CA emissions most likely not used.

What's your fuel pressure? Do you have access to a scan tool?

I have no idea what my fuel pressure is. Is there an easy way to test it? And what do you mean by scanner? Like a code scanner?

I use WinALDL on mine and I built the cable for like $10.   Works like a charm.

What all is involved? Am I making something that triggers the engine code flashing? I've already done that... So what more is WinALDL doing than just getting the engine light code?

I used 2 meter probes and wired the transistor in line and was done.  Then just Download the software to your computer.  You need a DB9 connector on your laptop (generally older ones have this only)

This is what is displayed on the computer via the software: http://winaldl.joby.se/aldlscreen.htm
