ok in previous threads i was suggest to get a either a holley or edelbrock 600cfm carb. im ready to buy one but im not sure which one to get. if anyone can suggest a certain carb i would greatly appreciate it. a link to it would be perfect. here is all my engine info.
1995-00 350 bored .40 over with one piece rear seal
093 vortec heads with double valve springs
summit stage 3 dual plane intake #226019 non egr
and a th350 tranny
it currently has the carb from my old 305 and just cranks over and dies
any help would greatly be appreciated

i personally love the holley 600's

Do you need a manual choke or a electric choke? This is the one I would get:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EDL-1406/
I have ran Edelbrock carb's on all of my trucks with great results! Also, if I am not mistaken, and correct me if I am wrong, but you can probably shop around and find a remanufactured carb for a little cheaper.
-
I would totally go with an edelbrock 600 or 650.

TH350 linkage stud: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EDL-8018/
Throttle linkage stud rod end type: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EDL-8009/
Thorttle linkage stud snap on type: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EDL-8016/?image=large
Try fabricating these pieces or adapting the existing studs from your Q-jet. It shouldn't be too hard. Just make sure they are good and secure.

What part of Houston?

thanks, are these the only peices?
What part of Houston?
northwest houston, in the spring area

Well you only need one of those two throttle studs, depending on what style cable you have. Does the cable pull right off or do you have to remove a special clip before removing it? Look at your Q-jet for a reference.

o..ok i see. it has the special clip that has to be removed then it comes off, so which of the two studs do i need. heres a pic of the quadrajet before i took it off.. o and my edelbrock doesnt have the little soleniod thing that the red wire is running to on it either.

If you want to use the Edelbrock stud, it's this one: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EDL-8009/
But I would replace that stupid cotter pin with a hair pin cotter.
And here is Edelbrock's answer to the idle bump solenoid: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EDL-8059/?image=large
As you can see, it's expensive, so I would simply fab up a bracket and reuse the factory solenoid. If you do this, you can also integrate a nice place for the throttle return spring to attach.

ok so i got those two peices and now ive run into another problem... theres only one hole on the carb that i could one of them in..so what about the other peice. i circled it in the pic below

ok i thought that the hole where its marked for the kickdown stud is where the spring attaches... ???
-
Hooking up throttle return springs with aftermarket carbs often requires a little creativity on the part of the installer.
I would advise making yourself a little metal tab like this:

And installing it under the nut of the kickdown stud like this:
