Hey there guys. I was just wondering if any of you have ever tried to swap a cadilliac motor into a k-20 before. my truck has a 468 bbc, turbo 400, 203 t-case, soon to be a dana 60 front, and a sm465 4-speed. i was just wondering if this swap is feasible. all that extra torque would be great! what do you guys think?

Where would you find a flywheel to make a caddy engine stick?
-
I've never researched it, but i would think someone makes one.
-
well, i did a little research, and found several companies that sell caddy 500 swap parts. http://www.cad500parts.com/index.htm Looks like short of the expence, it would be feasible.

Cool then, it is only money... My buddies used to get around 20mpg in his 500 caddy engine 71 Longhorn C20 and it was plenty quick stock

Its been done a lot. Check out cadillacpower.com for a lot of posts on the swap parts and process. 2wd is a piece of cake, 4wd is a little more involved.

Yea... money is the hard part, but i've all ready got a good running 500 caddy, a b.o.p 4-speed bell-housing. my friend at the machine shop says that either the pont or buick flywheel is a direct bolt on to the cad. that would just leave me to have to fab up the motor mounts, and accessory drive mounts. seems to me it would be really cool, and really functional. It would be a really street-able extra 32 cubic inches, compared to my bbc. thanks again for the extra link Hertzdaddy!

I just saw a new build on cadillacpower.com. I'm a member over there too. I'm gonna do this swap in my c20 when I'm able to.
