Title: 700r4 lockup parts problems
Post by: Armor on July 25, 2009, 06:04:07 pm
ive been following this page http://www.73-87.com/7387garage/drivetrain/lockup.htm

for getting my rebuilt 700r4 ready for my truck with getting lock-up figured out, the problem I've run into is that i cannot get some of the parts anymore apparently.

i got the brake cancel switch( GM #25524845 ) and can get the(Normally open/pressure closed switch - GM #8627332) for 40$(is that too high?) from a shop near here,
however I've been told the (Low-vacuum switch - GM #14014519) is no longer available, is there another ac-delco part i can use for the same effect?

ive checked the nearby pick and pulls and none of the vehicles have one that i can pirate to use.

also i can get the 1 pin connector readily for the case apparently. odd considering the other problem.

any help would be great, as its getting closer to motor/tranny swap time

thanks

If you want it set up like the factory, going to a junk yard is your cheapest bet. There are many threads on here on how to wire it up. The article you referenced is a 2004R I believe.
