Title: New truck
Post by: force11b on July 28, 2009, 07:47:42 pm
Hey all,

I just purchased my first 4x4. Its an 1983 Chevy with a 305 that my uncle bought new and drove till last year. The short term plan is to get it driving and then work on it as funds permit. Now for the getting it running and my question. The clutch is completely shot. You can take your foot right off the pedal and it will not move or even stall. My uncle backed it in where it sits by rocking it to get it to move. Just how complicated is a clutch replacement on a 4x4? Is it alot worse than a 4x2? Are there any DIY articles? How long would it take to replace? Thanks for the help!!

It's pretty straight forward and easy. Pick up a service manual. You'll be glad you did.
