Title: Master cylinder/hardline threads?

Anyone know what the metric size is on the '83 master cylinder threads, and what the SAE size is on the brake lines on my '79?
Bodyswap, '83 C10 body on to '79 K10 frame.
Info greatly appreciated. I'd like to find an adapter bushing.

cant really help you on the size but as far as adapter goes not sure if they make one but if you stop by autozone and pick up what ever size you need for both sae and metric then cut them both off at the end and switch the flare nuts and flare it and that should work. not 100% sure but it should lol

X 2 with the reflaring the existing line with a metric nut.

Thanks, that's what it's looking like needs to happen. Is it a double flare or single? They look pretty thick but I can't really tell.

Oddly enough, no difference in thread, both SAE. Reversed the lines front/rear at the MC and they went right in. Gotta check brake operation, though; seems kinda weird that reversing the lines would be OK. Might need to splice a proportioning valve into the rear lines. Driving the truck around in the shop thing seem OK, but things might be different at 70MPH with an empty bed and a serious application of the brake pedal!

Now that you mention it, years ago I put an 83 cab on a 76 frame and thats what we did. Switched the brake lines around. I will have to check and see if they are still like that or if he did something different over the years. I am in the middle of fixing a bunch of rust on it now again 14 years later!
