I want to fix my a/c in my 1979 Chevy Silverado C-10 1500 it has a 305 i need to know what kind of compressor it needs and what kind of bracket it needs to place the compressor on there. If you have any ideas or pics of what it looks like please let me know i would really apreciate it. Thanks.

What compressor was on there?
-
A factory air setup should have an A-6 compressor. Brackets should be a dime a dozen at the boneyard.

This is my 79 after I replaced the 350 w/ the 383....

and the rear bracket is seen here when I was stripping out the 350.....

So the compressor would have to be an A-6 right?
And isnt there like a specific bracket for the compressor?
-
It could be an R4 also but it really doesn't matter since you obviously don't have the bracketry. Find a donor
-
Ok so by donor you mean i can just take off any bracket and compressor from any other 305 and place it on mines right?
-
the right kind of bracket for the right kind of compressor.
some more pics of my 79 when removing the 350...
