Title: Coolant temp sensor
Post by: dumbucket1 on August 07, 2009, 10:50:05 am
87 silverado 305 tbi. Is it possible for the cts to be faulty and read hot at all times? When you start the truck cold it hesitates when you take off. Once it gets warmed up it is fine. The sensor is cheap so I will buy one, I am just curious if this is possible.

Usually it works the other way around. The resistance goes up and the temp goes down.

Replaced sensor and no change. Removed cat convertor and hesitation went away so I guess it was plugged. I will just have a new dual exhaust put on and eliminate the cat. No smog check here
