i have 1984 k10 short bed with a 8.5 10 bolt rear i was wondering if i could use 4.11 gears out of a 10 bolt 8.5 car rear and also if i have a 700r4 od and 35/12.50/15 tires do u know if the 4.11 would be a good choice im really just looking for more get up and go off the line my engine is a 350 with about 300 hp an the tranny is a new gm goodwrench 700r4 and i have the np208 transfer case please help me figure this out before all my money is gone i really love my truck and want to hook it up a lil better thank you to everybody ;D

well what ratio you have up front, you want them to match. why not swap out the whole axle. with 35s you should be OK but i would worry about your OD giving out due to the tire size. if your looking for a truck to hook up i would go with a 4x2. i would assume the gears would be the same out of the car and truck if they came from about the same year.

i stay out of od for that reason and i cant afford to replace the whole rear and asfar as the front goes ive had it for 3 years n never used the 4x4 so im not to concerned with it just really need to kno if gears are interchangible

YES - as long as they come from the same series diff as what you have in the truck right now..( prob a 3 series..mine was) 4:11 should be good - what is in there now? 3:08 I'm guessing...if so - 4:11's should be pretty good...maybe 4:56's since you are running 35" tires?
