hey guys,
I'm from Hudson, Quebec... just about 45 minutes West of Montreal. I am new to the forum, but not entirely new to Chevy trucks. I have mostly been a Jeep guy for the last 5 years or so but one of my DD's a few years back was an 86 'burb.
Anyway, i have always wanted to build a nice 4x4 Chevy pickup with V8 Power, so i recently traded an old Jeep for a 1980 Chevy shortbox stepside. She's a little rough, but the frame is rock solid and the cab is in great shape. Plan is to get her running and replace the front fenders, eventually strip the frame and repaint it and then paint the whole truck... eventually i'll do a lift and some big tires as time and budget permit but for now i just want to get her on the road. For now, she fires, but won't run for more than a few seconds.. so far i am suspecting a carb or vacuum issue

The bed is not bolted down so if it looks a little crooked that would be why.
oh yeah and the PO swapped in some bucket seats from a Volvo!! (of all things). i'll be getting a bench back in there ASAP.
